A bit of a belated Birthday present for my Mum. A few months ago she sent me an Instagram reel of some chopping board inspired coasters and a corresponding rack for them all. I chose to adapt the design a bit, making them look a bit more like a meat cleaver, which also enabled for there to be a combination of materials. I chose the combinations of Cedar and Ebony, Teak and Tambooti, Sapele and Sonokelling Rosewood, Oak and Gonçalo Alves, and Beech and Black Palm. For a second iteration which was a Christmas present I adapted the design so that it could be made quicker and neater. The second iteration's wood combinations were Ash and Tambooti, Oak and Sapele, and Ash and Yew.
