Wine Cork Board

Date

December 2024

Location

Kent

Materials

Cork, Plywood

Before this I used to work in a swanky bar in the middle of Newcastle, where I was able to collect a fair few wine corks. I decided to make a cork board from these. I decided to take precedent from the vineyards of France, with the layout of the corks based on the course of the River Garonne, and Dordogne as it flows through the area surrounding Bordeaux. I cut all of the corks in half, I then glued them onto the plywood base board which doubled as a stencil, and used a flush trim router bit to trim the corks up to the edge of the plywood board.
